Carbon/carbon (C/C) components are formed by combining carbon fiber preforms with reinforcing materials, resulting in a range of desirable properties for the hot zones of vacuum high-temperature heat treatment furnaces. These properties include high strength, high-temperature resistance, excellent thermal stability, low thermal expansion coefficient, electromagnetic shielding, corrosion resistance, impact resistance, oxidation resistance, low weight, and good flexibility. The components can be manufactured in the form of flat panels through conductive heat pressing.
